Appomattox is a town the US state of Virginia, about 20 miles east of Lynchburg, VA. The town itself is near the restored village where Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union General Ulysses S. Grant at the end of the American Civil War. Brad Babcock and Woody Williams died here. Appomattox County High School is here.
