Biographical Information

Anthony McQuide was a pitcher who played for the Unions of Lansingburgh of the National Association of Base Ball Players (NABBP) in 1866. He was also apparently captain of the first Lansingburgh Nine. He was a teammate of Bill Craver, Steve King, and Bub McAtee during his time there. On May 12, 1864 the Troy Daily Times reported that he was elected to be a director for the team for the following season. He died later that year after his carriage was struck by a train. Some sources list him under the name "Andrew McQuade" as well as "Anthony McQuoid" though researcher Peter Morris seemed to think it was more likely Anthony McQuide.
