Biographical Information[edit]
The son of big league manager Jerry Manuel, cousin of Marcellous Manuel and former brother-in-law of Rondell White, second baseman Anthony Manuel was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 48th round of the 2002 amateur draft but did not sign. He was then picked by the New York Mets in the 45th round of the 2005 amateur draft and played two seasons in their organization.
Following his playing career, Manuel served as the Vice-President of the Jerry Manuel Foundation. He returned to the baseball diamond in 2021 as the hitting coach for the Williamsport Crosscutters. The 2021 Crosscutters played in the inaugural season of the MLB Draft League which provided high school and college draft hopefuls a chance to showcase their abilities in the two months leading up to the 2021 Amateur Draft. Manuel joined the Cincinnati Reds organization as the bench coach for the ACL Reds in 2022-2023.
