Biographical Information[edit]
Anselm "Anse" Moore played 51 games for the 1946 Detroit Tigers who went 92-62.
Anse split his time between playing right field and left field for the Tigers. The regular left fielder that year was Dick Wakefield while right field was manned primarily by Pat Mullin (75 games) and Roy Cullenbine (69 games).
Moore was born in Delhi, LA, in northeastern Louisiana. He played at least 11 seasons in the minors, with 140 home runs. Some of his best years were with Buffalo in 1947-49. On June 20, 1948, he hit three home runs in a game against Syracuse.
His career was interrupted by service in World War II.
