Biographical Information[edit]
Andy Kyle was apparently the first person to play both professional baseball and professional hockey. Born in Toronto, ON, he played pro hockey first, in 1908-09 and continued for the better part of a decade. He began playing pro ball in 1910, and his career ran through 1921. He came to the majors with the Cincinnati Reds for 9 games in 1912, posting an excellent batting line of .333/.440/.381, and making no errors in the field. His games were all near the end of the 1912 season, and while he went hitless in his first four games, he made up for it with seven hits in 17 at bats during his last five games.
Twenty years later he became a "golf champion".
