Biographical Information[edit]

Andy Bissell began his college baseball career at Sacramento City College before transferring to Azusa Pacific University. Bissell earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2015 from Azusa Pacific and stayed an additional year to finish another bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology.

Bissell held various coaching positions over the next few years. He was the Director of Operations and the Catching & Hitting Instructor at Bardo’s Diamond Sports, a training facility in Denver, CO. While in Colorado, Bissell also served as the catching coach for two seasons (2017-2018) at Valor Christian High School. He returned to Sacramento City College in the fall of 2018 where he spent a semester as their Player Development Coordinator.

The Seattle Mariners hired Bissell in late 2018 and he spent the 2019 season as a coach for the Arkansas Travelers. The Mariners promoted him to the major league staff in 2020 as a Major League Coaching Assistant. In this role he was responsible for coordinating the in-game replay process as well as assisting with pre-game work. Bissell continued in this position through the 2024 season.
