Biographical Information[edit]

Andrei Protasov was an infielder for the Russian League's Moscow Red Devils from 1992-1995, for SKV in 1997-1999, RusStar in 2000 and SKV in 2001. He hit .263/.333/.263 for the Russian national team in the 1993 European Championship. He fielded .929 at third base, nearly leading the Euros that year, second to Christophe da Silva by .004. He went four for four in steal attempts, tying for 7th in the event in swipes; only Igor Makhambetov stole more for Russia. In the 1995 European Championship, he hit .200/.294/.233 and fielded .913 as the starting second baseman for Russia. In the 1997 Russian League, he hit .393/.469/.476 with 23 RBI in 20 games, tying for second in the league in RBI, tying for 3rd in hits (33), tying for 6th in total bases (40) and finishing 10th in average. he fell to .284/.358/.435 with 20 runs in 21 games in 1998 and tied for 9th with 17 walks. In 1999, he batted .306/.361/.528. He was only 3 for 17 with 6 walks in 2000. Russian League stats are only available for 1997-2000 online as of March 2016.
