Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Andrew Pinckney began his college career at D-I Baylor University before transferring closer to home at D-III Emory University. He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 34th round of the 2004 amateur draft. Pinckney was signed by scout Rob English and made his pro debut that summer with the Lowell Spinners, hitting .273 in 64 games. With the Greenville Bombers the next year, he hit .311 with 21 home runs and 98 RBIs and was a South Atlantic League All-Star. He played for the Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2006, hitting .255, clubbing 10 homers, and driving home 47 runs. In 2007, he was with the Portland Sea Dogs, for whom he hit .264 with 14 home runs and 64 RBIs.
