Biographical Information[edit]
Andrew Cotner pitched in the minors and later was a scout.
Cotner was picked by the New York Mets in the 20th round of the 1991 amateur draft, one pick after Ben Weber. In 1991, he allowed one run and fanned 10 in 9 1/3 IP for the Kingsport Mets, saving two. He was 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in six games for Kingsport in '92. He split 1993 between Kingsport (4-0, 1.26, 18 K in 14 1/3 IP) and the Capital City Bombers (3-2, Sv, 4.71, 32 K in 28 2/3 IP). Overall, the injury-plagued lefty went 8-3 with 3 saves and a 3.14 ERA in 42 games, walking 33 and fanning 70 in 63 innings. He was a Houston Astros scout from 2000-2002, signing Brooks Conrad.
