Andrea Castrì played two seasons in the minor leagues and has spent the rest of his career in his native Italy.

Castrì debuted in Serie A1 in 1994, hitting .274/.339/.451 as a utility man for the Caserta baseball club. He had a 1-3, 7.77 record on the mound and his teams wisely chose to use him as a hitter in future seasons. In 1996, he batted .283/.356/.505 with 11 HR, 42 runs and 48 RBI in 56 games; the big negative was 63 K in 212 AB. The Caserta slugged hit .370/.407/.659 in 1997 with 48 runs and 48 RBI in 52 contests. He was just 1 for 14 with six strikeouts for Italy in the 1997 Intercontinental Cup. He hit .471 with 7 runs in the 1997 European Championship to help Italy win Gold.

Signed by the New York Yankees, Andrea had a solid 1998 with the Oneonta Yankees. He hit .290/~.329/.377 but struck out in 43 of 138 AB. He stole 11 bases in 11 tries and was used primarily at third base. In 1999, Castrì hit .239/~.304/.367 with 91 strikeouts and 6 homers in 264 AB while splitting first base duties for the Greensboro Bats.

In the 1999 European Championship, he was 7 for 15 with two doubles, a triple, a walk, 4 runs and 5 RBI in four round-robin games and made the tournament All-Star team at first base as Italy won a Silver Medal. He was far worse in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup, going 3 for 26 with a double and a homer as the Italian 1B.

Back in Italy in 2000, Castrì hit .335/.409/.555 for Caserta. During 2001, he hit .290/.362/.485 with 43 RBI in 52 games. He went 1 for 7 with two walks as a part-time LF for Italy in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, perhaps his last appearance for the national team.

Moving to the Nettuno clubs for 2002, Andrea produced at a .225/.382/.392 rate with 36 whiffs in 102 AB. In '03, he bounced back to a .289/.360/.447 line in a part-time role. In 2004, Castrì hit .213/.319/.316 with 52 whiffs in 155 AB for Telemarket Rimini. He did not even play in Serie A1 in 2005.

Castrì was back in A1 in 2006, batting .265/.327/.347 for Nettuno. In 2007, he hit .207/.275/.317 as Nettuno's backup 1B. In 2008, he eked out a .217/.318/.365 line, a poor performance for a starting first baseman. He was a star, though, in the 2008 European Cup Final Four, going 3 for 7 with a double, walk and 2 RBI to help Nettuno take the title.

In the 2009 European Cup's Nettuno phase, Andrea hit .267/.313/.533 with a grand slam.
