Biographical Information[edit]
Alvin Herrera pitched in the minors and for the Venezuelan national team.
Herrera was originally signed by the Colorado Rockies in 2010. He made his pro debut with the 2011 DSL Rockies, going 0-1 with a 12.66 ERA in ten games. In 2012, he was 0-1 with a 2.79 ERA in nine contests. Let go by Colorado, he signed with the Baltimore Orioles. He was 3-3 with 4 saves and a 2.43 ERA for the '13 DSL Orioles 1. He had a 5-3, 3.51 record and 8 saves for the 2014 DSL Orioles 2. He tied for 8th in the Dominican Summer League in wins.
In his winter debut, he was 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA for the Tiburones de La Guaira. He gave up 3 runs in 4 postseason innings. [1] He was 0-1 with two saves and a 3.15 ERA in ten outings for the 2015 GCL Orioles, his lone stint in a US league. He had a 3.86 ERA for the 2015-2016 Tiburones. The next year, he was 0-1 for them with 12 hits in 6 2/3 IP. He gave up four runs in two innings in the postseason.
Alvin was with Venezuela for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games but was lit up in his only start (2 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 5 R vs. Colombia) in a loss. [2] He was 0-1 with a 3.92 ERA for La Guaira in 2018-2019.
