Biographical Information

Alvin Alcantara pitched in the minor leagues from 1996-1998, spending two years in the Dominican Summer League. In 1998, he was 1-1 with a 5.56 ERA in 31 games for the Johnson City Cardinals, walking only 11 in 43 2/3 IP. He made his last appearance in the Dominican Winter League a decade after his US career ended, throwing 7 games for the Estrellas de Oriente (0-1, 2.45, 3 2/3 IP as a LOOGY). He was pitching coach for the DSL Marlins in 2017, DSL Diamondbacks 2 in 2018, and DSL Diamondbacks 1 in 2019.
