Biographical Information[edit]

Alvaro Paz played for the Guatemalan national team in the 2003 Pan American Games. In the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, he went 1 for 11 with a walk and six whiffs. During the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, he was their center fielder and #2 batter, going 5 for 15 with a double, two walks, a run and two RBI. He remained with Guatemala for the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.

Guatemala's oldest player in the 2013 Bolivarian Games, the 35-year-old hit .211/.318/.263 and had a three-run game against Bolivia.
