Biographical Information[edit]
Alexander Rodríguez has pitched for Guantánamo. He had led the 2000 World Junior Championship in ERA (1-0, 0 ER in 11 IP), 1.23 ahead of Adam Loewen, but Jeremy Bonderman was named the All-Star RHP instead. Cuba won the Bronze. In 2003-2004, he led the Cuban Serie Nacional with 22 starts and 26 hit batsmen. He was 10-2 with 7 saves and a 3.42 ERA in 2007-2008. He was 5th in the league with 85 strikeouts and tied for 8th in wins. Through that season, he had been 41-41 with 7 saves and a 4.73 ERA in 8 seasons.
In 2008-2009, the veteran was 5-5 with 5 saves and a 5.09 ERA and was 6th in the circuit with 15 home runs allowed.
