Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Alex Gamez played for the Zanesville Greys of the independent Frontier League in 1995, hitting .347/.416/.439 with 34 hits, three doubles, three triples and 16 stolen bases in 26 games.

He died in an automobile accident on July 13, 1995 shortly after being named to the Frontier League All-Star squad. The league's All-Star Game MVP Award is named in his honor.
