Biographical Information

19-year-old Alex Beam pitched in a couple games for the Pittsburgh Alleghenys in 1889. He was not the youngest person on the squad, as 19-year-old Alex Jones, who pitched in one game, was a bit younger. Beam appeared early in the season while Jones appeared near the end.
