Biographical Information[edit]
Aleksandr Buyanov was a decathlete before playing baseball. [1] He was also a team handball star. [2] He pitched for the USSR national team in the 1990 Goodwill Games. [3] He was 0-2 with a 9.72 ERA in the 1991 Intercontinental Cup, fourth on the eight-man staff in ERA behind German Gulbit, Rinat Makhmoutov and Leonid Korneev. [4]
