Alberto Soto is a former Cuban Rookie of the Year.

Soto debuted with Granma in 2005-2006 with a 10-4, 3.76 record. He tied for 4th in the Cuban Serie Nacional in wins and was named Rookie of the Year. He played for Cuba in the 2006 World Junior Championship. He had a sophomore slump in 2006-2007, going 4-7 with a 5.97 ERA and .330 opponent average. He had a 3-8, 5.12 record in 2007-2008.

Soto was only 1-5 with a save in 10 games in 2008-2009 but lowered his ERA to 2.22.
