Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Albert Smith played in the minor leagues from 1936 to 1943. He began his career with a .302 batting average with 32 doubles and 12 triples in 118 games for the Mount Airy Reds in 1936, then spent most of 1937 with the Smiths Falls Beavers, with whom he hit .321/.397/.551 with 17 home runs and 96 RBI in 105 games. He lost his hitting stroke the following year and never regained it, batting .238, .233, .229, .231, .247 and .232 from 1938 to 1943, respectively. In total, he hit around .258 with at least 42 home runs and 250 RBI in 877 games over 8 seasons.
His year of birth has also been listed as 1916.[1]
