Biographical Information[edit]
Al Sauter played in the big leagues for 14 games in 1890. His minor league career appears to have been short, although Sporting Life reported an amateur player named A. Sauter as associated with the Hardware Baseball Club of Philadelphia in 1888, so he may have put in some years as a top amateur. With the 1890 Philadelphia Athletics, he was five years younger than teammate Wilbert Robinson.
