Biographical Information[edit]
First baseman Al Niehaus was in the majors in 1925, hitting .275 in 68 games. He played in the minors from 1921-29 (other than in 1925), hitting over .300 several times.
Niehaus first spent three years in the Florida State League, with a peak of .364 in 1923. The rest of his minor league career was in the Sally League and the Southern Association, with a .366 average in 1924 with Chattanooga before he came to the majors.
He died of pneumonia in 1931.
