Biographical Information[edit]
Akira Neo played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Neo was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants, Chunichi Dragons, Yakult Swallows and Nippon-Ham Fighters in the first round of the 2018 NPB draft, and the Dragons won the lottery for the right to him. He was 0-for-2 in his first season, and he went 2-for-23 in 2020. Neo struggled again in 2021 as his batting line was .178/.251/.231, and he hit .200/.289/.250 in 49 games in 2022. He was turned into a pitcher in the middle of the 2022 season, and he had a 3.41 ERA in 25 games that season. Neo only pitched 2 games in 2023, and he allowed 9 runs in 7 2/3 innings in 2024.
