Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Akira Hotta played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Hotta played for Japan in the 1963 Asian Championship. [1] He played for the Nippon Shinyaku in the industrial league after college. The Osaka native turned pro in 1964 with the Yomiuri Giants. However, he didn't play well in the NPB, only playing 26 games in three seasons with a .211/.318/.237 batting line. Hotta announced his retirement after the 1966 season. [2]
