Biographical Information[edit]

The New York Yankees signed Agustin Rivero as a free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2005. He played for the DSL Yankees 2 in 2006 before a shoulder injury ended his career. Rivero then went to college and earned an associates degree from Quincy College and a bachelor's degree from Columbia University in Latin American Studies and Business Management. He continued at Columbia to earn a master's degree in Advanced Management and Finance in 2018. As his LinkedIn page shows (see below), he worked quite a variety of jobs on his way through college.

In 2019 Rivero joined the Cleveland Indians organization in a dual role. During the season he worked as an interpreter with the major league club and then worked in Baseball Operations during the offseason. Over time his activities with the major league squad widened and he was promoted to major league staff assistant & interpreter in 2022. He retained this role in 2023.
