Biographical information[edit]
Adrian Adkins was a minor league baseball catcher who spent one season in professional baseball, 1989.
He was drafted four times, the first being in the 18th round of the 1984 amateur draft, by the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 1985, he was drafted again by the Dodgers, this time in the secondary phase of the January 1985 amateur draft. In 1986, the Dodgers again drafted him, in the secondary phase of the June Draft. He finally signed after being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 8th round of the 1986 amateur draft.
He played a total of five games split between two teams during his very short minor league career. He spent three games with the Princeton Pirates, with whom he did not collect a single hit in seven at-bats. He also spent two games with the GCL Pirates. With them, he collected one hit in six at-bats, with his only career professional hit being a triple. Overall, he had one hit in 13 at-bats, for a .077 batting average. He handled five chances at catcher without an error.
