Biographical Information[edit]
Adrian Abreu signed with the New York Mets as a free agent and played in their minor league system from 2010-2015. In his final season he reached High-A for 10 games with the St. Lucie Mets. Overall, Abreu hit .237/.354/.333 in his six minor league seasons. Abreu spent the bulk of his time behind home plate with occasional games at first base.
The Mets hired Abreu in 2023 to work as a catching coach for the DSL Mets 1 squad. He maintained the same role in 2024 with their other Dominican Summer League team, the DSL Mets 2.
Abreu is also getting international coaching experience. He was the catching coach for the Águilas Cibaeñas during the 2024/2025 Dominican League season.
