Outfielder and pitcher Adolph Schinkle played in the minor leagues on-and-off from 1917 to 1930. He hit his stride in 1922, when he batted .316 in 116 games between two clubs, and followed that with averages of .341, .305, .292, .335, .340, .301, .364 and .321. In addition to hitting .341 in 1923, he had 201 hits, 37 doubles, 16 triples, 24 home runs and 342 total bases for the Albany Senators. He had 13 home runs and 13 triples for the same club the next year. In his .340 campaign, he had 203 hits and 39 doubles for the Hartford Senators and in his .364 season, he had 219 hits, 36 doubles, 24 triples and 321 total bases for the Bridgeport Bears. On the mound, he was 21-22 in 62 games overall. In 1917, he went 15-12.

He served as a sergeant during World War I. His year of birth has also been listed as 1896.
