Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Adam Kloffenstein made his major league debut during the "Rickwood Field Game" staged at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, AL on June 20, 2024. The game was staged to honor the Negro Leagues and their players, and the St. Louis Cardinals wore the uniforms of the Negro Leagues' St. Louis Stars for the occasion, while their opponents, the San Francisco Giants, were playing as the San Francisco Sea Lions. Kloffenstein pitched the 8th inning and did not allow a run, preserving a 6-5 lead for closer Ryan Helsley who then picked up his 25th save.

Adam was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 3rd round of the 2018 amateur draft. He was traded to the Cardinals along with fellow pitching prospect Sem Robberse on July 30, 2023 in return for pitcher Jordan Hicks. In high school, he was a teammate of Jordan Groshans, who was the Blue Jays' first selection in the 2018 draft.
