Biographical Information

Pitcher Abraham Elvira has played in the Mexican League since 2000, when he was 17 years old.

He has continually posted high ERAs throughout his career, reflective of the high-offensive environment of the league. The first four ERAs he posted were, respectively: 8.36, 5.13, 8.37 and 13.85. In 2006, he was 0-10 with a 9.08 mark, though the next season he went 8-7 with a 3.16 ERA. In 2012, his ERA was 12.00 in 14 games; the next year, he posted a 3.43 ERA in 45 appearances.

His brother is Narciso Elvira, who pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1990.
