2008 Italian Series
The 2008 Italian Series was won by T&A San Marino (25-17), their first scudetto of the newly named Italian Baseball League, formerly called Serie A1. San Marino's Max De Biase had 10 RBI's and was named series MVP. Former major league LHP Horacio Estrada won two games for San Marino and 1B Dean Rovinelli hit four HR's.
Along with the new league name came a new playoff format. The semi finals were scrapped, instead the top four teams from the regular season took part in a mini-league where they played each other three times. Then the two teams with the best record would advance to the championship series.
