History, Comments, Contributions[edit]

The 1932 Cleveland Stars were yet another failed Negro League team from Cleveland, lasting a year or less.

The pitching was not bad with a 99 ERA+, 4th in the league. Two hurlers made at least five appearances in the team's short existence - Roosevelt Davis (1-2, 3.93, 129 ERA+) and Nelson Dean (2-4, 4.94, 103 ERA+). The offense was not as strong with a 74 OPS+. RF Branch Russell hit .333/.452/.490 for a 139 OPS+ as their top hitter while CF Wilson Redus was also solid at the plate (.281/.369/.439, 105 OPS+), as was UT Joe Ware (.310/.375/.414, 101 OPS+). The other starters were C Felton Wilson (.222/.282/.250, 36 OPS+), 1B Curtis Harris (.278/.350/.315, 70 OPS+), 2B Dink Mothell (.214/.267/.214, 23 OPS+), SS Anthony Cooper (.286/.344/.339, 74 OPS+), 3B Bobby Robinson (.229/.261/.300, 42 OPS+) and LF Orville Singer (.306/.333/.367, 73 OPS+).
