  As part of a 3-team trade, traded Silvio Martínez and Lary Sorensen to the Cleveland Indians. Received Lonnie Smith from the Philadelphia Phillies. In addition, the Cleveland Indians sent Bo Díaz to the Philadelphia Phillies; and the Philadelphia Phillies sent a player to be named later to the Cleveland Indians. The Philadelphia Phillies sent Scott Munninghoff (December 9, 1981) to the Cleveland Indians to complete the trade.
