Zsolt Zalabai has been a top baseball player in Hungary. In 2005, he went 10 for 19 with two doubles and a walk. In '06, he hit .462/.644/.635 with 38 runs and 31 RBI in 23 games; he stole 13 bases in 14 tries. He batted .313/.472/.458 in 2007. In 2008, he hit .481/.629/1.074 with 30 RBI and 7 homers in 14 games.

Zalabai was a key player for Hungary in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers, where they fell short of a spot in the 2010 European Championship. He was 6 for 11 with a walk, triple, steal, run and 2 RBI in 3 games and led the event in average, OBP and slugging. On the mound, he was 0-2 but with a 2.03 ERA, losing to Ukraine and Romania. He fanned 11, finishing third in strikeouts behind Mihai Burlea and Oleksandr Trofimenko.

He batted .344/.535/.500 with 26 runs in 23 games in Hungary in 2009. On April 11, 2010, he threw a no-hitter for Óbuda Brick Factory against the Trnava Angels. It was the first no-hitter in the 20 years of Hungarian baseball. Pitching stats for Zabalai for the 2005-2009 seasons are unavailable on his stat page at baseballfan.hu as of April 2010.
