Biographical Information[edit]
Zane Smith was signed as a 3rd round pick in the 1982 amateur draft by the Atlanta Braves and scout Stu Cann.
On May 1, 1990, he made a rare appearance as a pinch-hitter in the 13th inning of a game pitting the Montreal Expos and the Houston Astros at Stade Olympique. With Otis Nixon on second base, he hit a double off Larry Andersen to deliver a 2-1 win for the Expos.
