Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Zane Skinner played in the minor leagues from 1947 to 1952. A consistent ballplayer, he had between 135 hits and 174 hits, while playing at least 125 games, each year from 1947 and 1951 (his 1952 stats are unavailable). He had a career high 174 hits his first campaign in 1947 and in 1948 he knocked 22 triples -- and just 20 doubles. With the Baton Rouge Red Sticks in 1950, he hit .360 with a .496 slugging average in 126 games and in 1951, he knocked 12 triples.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.

He briefly served as the manager of the Texas City Texans in 1952.
