Biographical Information[edit]
Yuta Kimura pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Kimura represented Japan in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup, posting a 2.57 ERA in seven innings over five relief outings. Only Shota Oba pitched more games for Japan in that tournament. The Chiba Lotte Marines drafted him in the first round of the 2008 NPB draft. Kimura was placed in the NPB Farm Leagues in the first two seasons of his career. He debuted for the big club and pitched 13 games with a 3.38 ERA in 2011, but then spent the next 2 years mainly in the ni-gun, only having 4 appearances combined with the big club. He recorded a 5.35 ERA in 19 appearances in 2014. Kimura only pitched 11 more games until 2016, and the Marines released him after the 2016 season.
Overall, Kimura was 1-6 and a 5.24 ERA and pitched 87 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
