Biographical Information

Yusef Amador debuted for the Metropolitanos in 2009-2010. He had been discovered playing ball on the streets of Havana and impressed the club. In his rookie year, he impressed the rest of Cuban ball by hitting .334/.402/.545 with 20 doubles and 63 RBI in 81 games to lead the Metropolitano offense. He played primarily first base. He was named Cuba's Rookie of the Year.
