Biographical Information[edit]
Yulkin German was a minor league pitcher for five years.
German was 1-1 with a 6.26 ERA for the 2003 DSL Red Sox 1, with 40 walks in 27 1/3 IP. In 2004, he improved to 4-5, 3.25 for the DSL Red Sox and struck out 85 in 61 innings while cutting his walks to 28. Brought stateside, he went 2-1 with a 2.57 ERA for the '05 GCL Red Sox, fanning 56 in 49 innings. He had a 6-1, 1.81 record for the 2006 Lowell Spinners, again averaging over a K per inning. He tied for 8th in the New York-Penn League in wins. On August 13, he worked the final four innings (4 K, 0 BB) of a combined no-hitter with Jeffrey Farrell against the Hudson Valley Renegades. It was the first no-no in Lowell franchise history. Let go by Boston the next year, he was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers but pitched pitifully for the Great Lakes Loons (37 H, 21 BB, 34 R in 16 IP) to end his career.
Overall, the lefty was 13-8 with a 4.26 ERA in 78 minor league games. He had 231 strikeouts, 140 walks and 189 hits in 203 innings.
