Biographical Information

Yu-Hsiang Yao played in the CPBL for 4 years.

Yao was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the 7th round of the 2018 CPBL Draft, and he hit .301/.342/.483 with 6 homers in the minors in 2019. He hit .238/.292/.429 with the big club in 2019, and he crushed 8 homers with a .312/.472/.576 batting line in the minors in 2020. However, Yao struggled with the big club, and he hit .222/.222/.259 in 2021. His batting line fell to .194/.256/.194 in 2022, and he only played 7 games in the major league in 2023. The Lions released him after the 2023 season, and his professional career ended.

Overall, Yao hit .217/.260/.283 with 20 hits in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
