Biographical Information[edit]
Yu-Hao Cheng has pitched for the Taiwanese national team. He is a cousin of former Olympic infielder Chang-Ming Cheng. [1]
The Taitung native went up for the CPBL draft in 2003, 2005 and 2006 but was never picked. [2] After attending Chiayi University, he was with Taiwan for the 2012 Haarlem Baseball Week. He pitched one scoreless inning for the team. [3] He was also with Taiwan for the 2019 Asian Championship. Starting against Hong Kong, he threw three shutout innings (2 H, 1 BB, 3 K) before Tsung-Hao Wang took over. In the Gold Medal Game, he relieved Kai-Wei Teng in the 3rd and worked 1 1/3 innings (3 H, 2 BB, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 K) before Wang took over. Taiwan would come back to win the Gold. [4]
