Biographical Information[edit]

Yu-dong Kim played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 4 years.

Kim played for the South Korean national team in the 1976 Amateur World Series. When the KBO was founded in 1982, the OB Bears signed him and he recorded a .245/.270/.426 batting line with 6 homers in his first season. In the 1982 Korean Series, Kim went 10-for-25 with 12 RBI to help OB beat the Samsung Lions in 6 games. He even crushed 2 homers, including a grand slam against Sun-hee Lee in the 9th inning of Game 6, and he won the first Korean Series MVP. However, Kim only played 38 games with a .252/.297/.306 batting line in 1983, and he hit .235/.244/.395 in 1984 after he jumped to the Sammi Superstars. He was 4-for-31 in 1985, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Kim hit .235/.269/.360 with 89 hits and 10 homers in 4 seasons in the KBO.
