Biographical Information[edit]

Yoyo O'Reilly pitched in the Dominican Republic in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He pitched for the Dominican national team as a teenager in the 1941 Amateur World Series, working one shutout inning, though allowing three hits. In the 1942 Amateur World Series, he had a 1.42 ERA in three games for the Bronze Medalists; he got the win over Team USA, relieving Fallón Heureaux with a 4-2 deficit and blanking the USA from the 5th to the 7th as the Dominicans rallied. He was set to represent the team in the 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games but was struck by illness. He never fully recovered and died of a heart attack at age 30.
