Yosnel García played in the Venezuelan Summer League in 1997-1998. In 1999, he hit .253/.333/.301 for the Bristol White Sox. That ended his career in Organized Baseball.

In the 2007 Pan American Games, Yosnel went 1 for 6 for Venezuela. He hit .308/.357/.308 in the 2007 Baseball World Cup and allowed 7 steals in 8 tries as one of three catchers to see regular duty. In the 2008 Caribbean Series, he was one for four with two errors for the Tigres de Aragua. García went 2 for 15 with a walk, double and run in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup while splitting catching duties for Venezuela with Luis Alen. He was Venezuela's weakest hitter but they still won a spot in the 2009 Baseball World Cup (for which Yosnel also represented his homeland).
