Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshio Tenbo spent 14 seasons pitching for Hankyu/the Hankyu Braves in Nippon Professional Baseball. His career ran from 1942 to 1957 with two breaks in between.
As a 19-year-old in 1943, Tenbo had a 2.01 ERA and 18 complete games, despite going 11-16 for the 31-51 Hankyu club. He won 19 games -- with 22 losses -- while completing 22 matches and posting a 2.33 mark in 1948. In 1949, he was 24-15, 2.91 with 21 complete games, seven shutouts and a 2.91 mark and in 1950, he was 18-24, 3.68, with 21 complete games.
Overall, Tenbo went 131-152 with 143 complete games and a 2.79 ERA in 431 games (283 starts).
