Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Yoshifumi Shimamoto played three years for Hankyu. He debuted in the fall 1936 season, hitting .156/.250/.344 in 13 games. In the spring of 1937, he was just 6 for 60, albeit with 15 walks. That fall, he hit .262/.360/.323 in 30 games. In the spring of 1938, he hit .167/.286/.167 in 12 contests; in the fall campaign ,he was 4 for 24 with two walks.
Overall, Shimamoto had batted .175/.295/.221 in 92 games in Nippon Pro Baseball.
