Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshiaki Inoue pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Inoue was signed by the Kokutetsu Swallows in 1951, and he was 2-2 with a 4.75 ERA in his rookie year. He went 7-7 with a 3.33 ERA in 1952, and he was 9-26 with a 4.22 ERA in 1953. Inoue led the Central League in losses, and he was 3rd in walks (37 behind Masaichi Kaneda). He was 3-4 with a 3.75 ERA in 1954, but he only pitched 12 games combined in the next two seasons. Inoue recorded a 4.58 ERA in 18 games in 1957, then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Inoue was 22-42 with a 3.87 ERA, struck out 201 and pitched 495 innings in 7 years in NPB.
