Yoire Fombona pitched for seven seasons in the Cuban Serie Nacional, going 13-25 with a 3.57 ERA and .239 opponent average. He pitched 132 games (36 starts). His career highlight came on February 4, 1969, when the Camagüey hurler beat Oriente, 6-1, with a no-hitter. It was the second time two Cuban hurlers had tossed no-hitters on the same day - Andrés Liaño also did so.
