Biographical Information[edit]

Chieh-Kai Pan played in the CPBL. His sister is Taiwanese women's national team infielder Chu-Yu Pan.

Pan represented Taiwan in the 2015 World Port Tournament, going 0-for-6 with a walk. The Uni-President Lions selected him in the fifth round of the 2016 CPBL Draft, and he hit .287/.304/.402 in his rookie year. He only played 24 games with a .140/.254/.240 batting line in 2017, then he improved to .318/.397/.442 in 2018. Had he qualified, he would ranked 8th in batting, between Chih-Hsien Chiang and Yi-Chuan Lin. In the 2018 Taiwan Series, Pan was 5-for-19 with a RBI triple against Cheng-Yang Chu in Game 3, but the Lions were beaten by the Lamigo Monkeys in 5 games.

The Taitung native struggled in 2019 as his batting line fell to .195/.284/.273, and he hit .242/.330/.374 in 36 games in 2020. He was 1-for-12 in the 2020 Taiwan Series, and he won his first title as the Lions beat the CTBC Brothers in 7 games. Pan suffered from a right hand injury in 2021, so he stayed in the minor league nearly for the entire season. He then recorded a .291/.363/.396 batting line in 2022, and he batted .283/.383/.346 in 2023. He crushed a solo home run against Tzu-Peng Huang in 2023 CPBL Playoff Series Game 2 while having a 4-for-10 record in the series, but the Monkeys still eliminated the Lions in 3 games.
