Biographical Information[edit]

Yasuhiro Nakamura pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.

Nakamura represented Japan in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup; he faced seven batters in his three outings, allowing no hits and one walk while fanning two. The Hanshin Tigers drafted him in the fourth round of the 2002 NPB draft. Nakamura spent nearly his entire career in the NPB Farm Leagues, as he only had 29 appearances combined with the big club. He won the ERA title of the Western League in 2007, and played a career-high 15 games with a 3.07 ERA in the major league. The Tigers traded him to the Nippon Ham Fighters for Satoru Kanemura after the 2007 season. Nakamura suffered a left elbow injury and was unable to pitched any games with the big club in the next seasons. The Fighters released him in 2008, and the Tigers picked him up again. The Nara native still stayed in the ni-gun for the entire 2009 season, and he announced his retirement after that year.

Overall, Nakamura was 3-2 with a 4.22 ERA and pitched 53 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
