Yannick Sel has pitched for the Belgian national team.
Sel debuted in the First Division in 2000, going 0 for 1 for the Brasschaat Braves. In 2001, he was 2-0 with 5 runs in 7 1/3 IP. He allowed only two runs in 19 1/3 IP for the 2002 Braves with a 2-0 record and 3 saves. He was Belgium's worst hurler in the 2003 European Championship with 5 hits, 2 walks and 4 runs in 3 innings, though he did strike out three. After two years off, he was 5-6 with 10 saves and a 4.69 ERA in 2005.
In 2006, Yannick was 5-5 with 10 saves and a 2.77 ERA for Brasschaat. He went 4-4 with 11 saves and a 5.28 ERA in '07. In 2008, the 24-year-old went 1-1 with 3 saves and a 4.56 ERA. He started for Belgium against a weak Malta team in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers and cruised to victory with one run in seven innings.
Sel was 3-2 with four saves and a 5.49 ERA in 2009.
